Reimagining Sex Ed—One Lesson at a Time

The School of Sexuality Project curriculum isn’t just a set of lessons—it’s a movement. Designed for middle and high school students, our program goes beyond compliance with the California Healthy Youth Act to create a sex education experience that is inclusive, joyful, trauma-informed, and culturally relevant.

We know that traditional sex ed often feels awkward, outdated, or even harmful. That’s why we created a curriculum that feels more like watching your favorite TikToks and less like a lecture. Think: music, humor, costumes, puppets, storytelling, real interviews, and interactive slides—all rooted in intersectional theory and educational best practices.

We center marginalized voices, highlight lived experiences, and empower students to see themselves reflected in every lesson. Our goal? To build critical thinking, confidence, and communication skills while helping students make informed choices about their health, relationships, and identities.

But we don’t stop at students—our curriculum includes:

Comprehensive Educator Training that dives deep into inclusive language, trauma-informed pedagogy, and legal guidance.

Parent + Caregiver Resources that support conversations at home through workshops, tip sheets, and ongoing support.

Culminating Student Projects like our student-created zines, which flip the power dynamic and allow young people to become the educators in their own communities.
